DnD - Red Dragon by Barbariank DnD - Red Dragon by Barbariank
Still continuing on my DnD dragon project, here comes the red dragon
One of the most powerful and fearsome beast from the forgotten realm's universe

I really love Todd lockwood's red dragon's design, well it's the one i like the most actually, i don't know if i did him justice or not but still i'm quite happy with the light and shadows and colors overall here, Fuck it i'm still improving : D

I really like the pose of the dragon. It really gets across a feeling of menace towards the viewer. My main gripe would be that this dragon's face is less detailed than the previous two dragons, and yet this one's is the same distance from the POV as the girl, unlike the previous two. Also its left front paw seems to be hovering in the air, but its so hidden that I didn't notice that for awhile.

The girl's pose is a big improvement over the previous two, as they seemed to be hanging in the air. This one looks a lot more like she's grounded, although I don't know if that is because her heels are hidden. As a suggestion, maybe her pose would be improved by removing the lava from her right foot? That way her hand would be held out to feel the heat of the lava beside her and she would have more of a connection to the environment.

As for the girl I'm kind of confused as to her design. The previous two could be half-human half-dragon with a few pieces of clothing to accent their look, but this one is very obviously almost entirely clothing. Yet even so she still has dragon-like elements on her face and fingers, and if those are boots they have to be incredibly difficult to wear. Did wearing the clothing make her partially draconic? Was she a part-dragon who mainly looked human and so she designed the armor to suit her identity? As clothing the design mostly makes sense as to how it would be fitted (aside from, again, what happens to her feet). I am a little confused as to what those things that come to an end at her shins are.

The thing that really gets me are those two claws that are going to impale her belly the second she does anything except stand around. They look rigidly attached to her dress, so they aren't going to move when she moves. The hair bugs me a little less. It doesn't quite make the wings look like flat ornamentation hanging behind her, but it comes close. Depending on how her wings move I imagine those long flowing curls could get stuck often.

Overall: the poses are improving, but there's still an issue with how weight is distributed. The emotional message of the image comes across, but the design can be a little distracting.
